E.L. Haynes' mission is to ensure that every E.L. Haynes student of every race, socioeconomic status, and home language will reach high levels of academic achievement and be prepared to succeed at the college of his or her choice.

An important part of the preparation for college is to ensure that students are performing at or above grade level and prepared for the rigor of college coursework. But there are many other components of our college preparation.

Starting in pre-kindergarten, all of our classrooms are named for the college alma mater and mascot of their teacher. College pennants line our hallways and students know what year they are going to college. College tours start in upper elementary school.

E.L. Haynes High School students will have an AP (advanced placement) for all curriculum, where all students will be taking college-level coursework for which they can earn college credits.

E.L. Haynes also prepares families for college by sharing information about financing a college education.
