Family Orientations - MANDATORY

Each year we take the time to orient families to what they can expect from the coming school year. This year’s orientation sessions happened by grade level and as potlucks. These sessions included a chance to meet and mingle with the grade level teachers and other instructional staff, returning and new families, and administrators along and provided a brief overview of what to expect for your child at E.L. Haynes this year. Family Orientations were held in August.

Back to School Nights

The evening will include a welcome address, visiting your students’ classrooms, and hearing more about the curricula from grade level teachers and curriculum specialists. Back to school nights were held in August.

Family Game Night

Come play games at E.L. Haynes with your family and other families! To be scheduled.

Holiday Bazaar and Family Craft Nights

E.L. Haynes will hold a Holiday Bazaar on Saturday, December 3, 2011 to raise money to support the school. The Bazaar will consist of a combination of a craft sale, a bake sale, and a yard sale featuring new and gently used items that could serve as gifts for the holidays. Leading up to the Bazaar, we will be organizing family craft nights at both campuses and in the homes of families to make craft items for sale at the Bazaar. We would love ideas for crafts, participants, and craft night hosts! Please share your time and talent! We are also looking for donated supplies such as glass plates, vases, beads, jewelry making supplies, and sculpey for use in the crafts. Yard Sale

E.L. Haynes will hold a Yard and Bake Sale in April to raise money to support the school. The Yard and Bake Sale will consist of a combination of a bake sale and a yard sale. We will need donations of baked goods and gently used items for the sale as well as volunteers to sort and price items and run the sale.

Raffle

E.L. Haynes will hold a Raffle to raise money to support the school. We would love help soliciting prizes for the raffle (and the silent auction). We will be sending tickets home with students to sell this Spring. We will also need parent volunteers to help distribute and collect tickets. Family Picnic and Silent Auction

Each Spring, we gather all students and families together for a potluck picnic with student activities. E.L. Haynes will also hold a Silent Auction as part of this event to raise money to support the school. We would love help soliciting prizes for the silent auction. We will also need parent volunteers to help organize student activities, set-up and clean-up the event, and help plan and run the silent auction.
