There are many ways that parents, grandparents, friends, and other supporters can take an active role in fostering our school’s mission and ensuring the best possible educational environment for our students and faculty. This support includes not only financial contributions, but volunteer opportunities as well.

Donations:

At E.L. Haynes we rely heavily on the generosity of our supporters to advance our vision and mission. You may choose to designate your gift to a specific program or you can choose to make an undesignated gift, which will apply towards our greatest area of need. To make a gift, download our pledge form or make a gift online through the Network For Good.

Donate Now Through Network for Good

Your donations typically support three main areas:

  • Our year-round programs. It costs hundreds of thousands of dollars each year to run the 1,000 additional hours of educational programming that we provide before school, after school, and during our quarterly intersessions every year.
  • Our teaching fellows program. We have nearly twice as many teachers as typical schools, since every classroom has both a lead teacher and a teaching fellow. In addition, we subsidize every teaching fellow’s tuition in American University’s certification program.
  • Our Early Childhood Program. Funds go to support our early childhood program because we know that the work we do and the information we can gather from our youngest students will have a major impact on their future success.

In-Kind Gifts:

E.L. Haynes also accepts select in-kind gifts, gifts of stock, and matching gifts. For any questions regarding making a gift to E.L. Haynes, please contact Julie Anne Green at (202) 667-4446.

Volunteers:

We also encourage you to consider volunteering in whatever capacity fits your talents and availability. Volunteers fill many roles; some share their expertise with students, others read aloud in class, and still others help us keep our facility in top form. If you have special skills and talent that you’d like to share with our school, please contact Keely Flaherty at (202) 667-4446.
