There are many ways for parents, grandparents, friends, and community members to take an active role in fostering our school’s mission.

Donations:

At E.L. Haynes we rely on the generosity of our supporters to advance our vision and mission.  We accept gifts of cash (cash, check or credit card), stock and matching gifts.

Your unrestricted donation to E.L. Haynes supports two main areas:

• Our Year Round Programs. E.L. Haynes provides 1,000 additional hours of education and enrichment programming during before school and after school hours and quarterly intersessions.  This programming is free of charge to all students who qualify for free or reduced price lunch. 

• Our Teaching Associates Program.This year, E.L. Haynes has 13 teachers-in-training, in addition to a full corps of experienced lead and specialist teachers.  Our Teaching Associates program not only develops teacher leadership for schools across DC, but also provides our students with additional educational support to ensure their success.

In-Kind Gifts:

Volunteers:

We encourage you to consider volunteering in whatever capacity fits your talents and availability. Volunteers fill many roles; some share their expertise with students, others read aloud in class or one-on-one with students after school, and some assist with administrative work.
