E.L. Haynes believes that teachers are the cornerstone of a quality education and invests in our most valuable asset by cultivating your talents to become the most effective educator you can be. To nurture your growth and further your career in education, we provide more than 200 hours of professional development and planning time during the year. Through our Race and Equity in Education Seminars (REES), we bring together groups of educators to look critically at how our own experiences with race inform our work. This critical shift in focus has permeated all aspects of our work with students, families and each other at E.L. Haynes, and how we continue to develop our will, skill and courage to confront the residual effects of systemic racism - the achievement gap that exists between black, white and Latino students.
