WHY E.L. HAYNES?
“We appreciate E.L. Haynes because of the diversity of its families and educators. We feel that our son is getting a well-rounded education that will allow him to grow to become a successful student and positive human being. Because of Haynes' past and present achievements, we are encouraged that continued success is on and beyond the horizon.”
Brooke and Byron McKie,
E.L. Haynes Elementary School Parents
“We have three children at E.L. Haynes, the oldest of whom will be in the first class to go all the way from preschool through 12th grade. Each of our children has very different learning needs, yet the school has done a great job challenging each one. We’ve looked at other schools but want our children to be raised in a culture of ethnic and socio-economic diversity where everyone has the chance to succeed. For us, it's the best—and only—place for our family.”

“As a staff member at E.L. Haynes, I wasn’t expecting the home visit to be as powerful as it was. I know the warmth of the community from my work, but having my three-year-old daughter’s Pre-K teachers come to our home made all of us more relaxed about the beginning of school. Despite Elisabeth sometimes being shy, within five minutes she was showing her new teachers her toys and reading a book. Her teachers wanted to get to know her and find out what we wanted for our daughter this year. We felt even more connected to the school as a result..”
