Candace Crawford, Director of College Counseling Ms. Crawford will celebrate 5 years at E.L. Haynes this school year. During her tenure, she has strengthened and led the expansion of the work of the College Office with a focus on starting college planning in 9th grade and supporting students who start their college journey at 2 year colleges. Last year, she was selected as a Counselor of the Year by the Potomac & Chesapeake Association for College Admission Counseling. Ms. Crawford has taught math and history, worked in education policy and advocacy at the local and national level, coordinated education research, worked in higher education, coached sports at the middle school and collegiate levels and served as president of the board of a charter school. She is a Pahara-Aspen NextGen Fellow. She earned a bachelor’s degree in History from Dartmouth College and a master’s degree in Education Policy from the University of Pennsylvania.
