Sebastien Durand grew up in the Vendee region on the west coast of France. He attended the University of Science of Nantes where he received the equivalent of a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. Simultaneously, he worked extensively with local organizations providing kids with extracurricular activities and other social services. He eventually earned a certificate in early childhood center management from the French ministry of Youth and Sports.
In 2000, he moved to Seattle, WA before settling in Portland, OR in 2003 to focus on his work in education at the French American International School. He developed different programs and eventually assumed the position of Director of the Extracurricular Department. In 2010, he became a US citizen in front of his students who surprised him by attending the ceremony! After a two years at the French American School of Rhode Island where he coordinated the school’s accreditation to the New England Association of Schools and Colleges, he moved to Washington, DC to join the founding team of Creative Minds International PCS . He joined E.L. Haynes in 2015 deepening his commitment to serve all DC students and their families.
