YEAR ROUND PROGRAMS

E.L. Haynes Public Charter School is a year-round school. Our Year-Round Programs include before-and after-school programming, as well as Intersession programming during our quarterly breaks throughout the year.

 

ELEMENTARY SCHOOL (GRADES PRE-K3-4)

At the Elementary School, E.L. Haynes partners with an outside provider to support extended-day programming. During the 2019-20 school year, we will be partnering with Springboard (www.springboard.com). Springboard is a nationally-respected provider of

out-of-school-time programming that adopts research-based curriculum and methods designed specifically to build skills outside of the traditional school day.

 

Hours of Operation

Extended Day Program:

Before-care: Monday-Friday: 7:00-8:15 AM and 3:45-6:00 PM

After-care: Monday-Thursday: 3:45-6:00 PM and Friday 1:45-6:00 PM

Intersession: 8:30 AM-3:45 PM; Springboard extended day is also available during intersession.

Full-Time Subsidy
E.L. Haynes is a licensed D.C. Child Care Provider. Families enrolled in the Child Care Subsidy program through the Office of the State Superintendent will not be billed for before- or after-school programs. To apply for a subsidy, please call Simone Jackson at 202-667-4446 (x 2515) to make an appointment. Those families who apply for a subsidy, but do not qualify, may apply for in-house financial assistance through Samone Jackson.

MIDDLE SCHOOL (GRADES 5-8)

E.L. Haynes operates our own out of school time programming (Year-Round Program) at the middle school, featuring middle school clubs and activities for students in grades 5-8.

Hours of Operation
Middle School Clubs and Activities: Monday-Friday 7:30-8:30 AM; and 4:15-6:00 PM
Intersession: 8:30 AM-4:15 PM; Extended day is also available during intersession. 

Cost and Enrollment

There is no cost for middle school students to participate in clubs and activities. Additionally, there is no cost for students selected to play on competitive athletics teams. Intersession registration is handled separately. Intersession fees are based on your child’s lunch status and are separate from before- and after-school program fees. HIGH SCHOOL (GRADES 9-12)

Teachers in the high school open their classrooms for office hours before and/or after school each day. Additionally, various clubs and activities are scheduled to meet throughout the year. If students are not participating in office hours or an after school activity, they are not permitted to remain in the building.
