The Community School Model
E.L. Haynes partners with neighborhood ally, Mary’s Center, to provide our families with comprehensive medical, dental, and mental health services. Founded in 1988, Mary’s Center is a Federally Qualified Health Center that serves families from across the DC region. Through this initiative, E.L. Haynes also offers truancy prevention programming and parenting workshops throughout the year.
A Community School is a public school – the hub of its neighborhood, uniting families, educators and community partners to provide all students with top-quality services and opportunities to succeed in school and in life (communityschools.org).
