Kate Cromwell currently serves as the Managing Director of Development & External Relations. Prior to joining E.L. Haynes, Kate was the Director of External Affairs for Washington Latin Public Charter Schools for 12 years, where she led communications, development, student recruitment, and family engagement activities for both campuses. Her prior experience in education specifically includes serving as Grant Director at Uplift Education, a large charter management organization in Texas, and as the founding president of a nonprofit that supports outdoor education for elementary school students. Her career has focused on supporting equitable access to quality educational options through public schools, both charter and traditional. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish Language and Literature from Carleton College and a Master’s of Business Administration from UCLA. Kate and her husband are the parents of four grown children, all public school graduates (including one from a DC charter school).
